Welcome to

Word of Life

Word of Life's vision is to open the minds of all people to the truth and realness of God’s word. We do this by teaching the truth of God’s word in simple, and basic form, for easy understanding, and application in everyday living. Our mission is to provide a forum for learning God’s word, in a manner that will give disciples (Christians) the tools needed, to build a secure foundation in the body of Christ.

We Believe in:

ONE TRUE GOD

The One True God is the eternally self-existent “I AM,” the Creator of the universe. He has chosen to reveal Himself as a triune Being, manifested as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (See Exodus 3:14).

SCRIPTURES INSPIRED

We belive all scripture is inspired by God and serve as His perfect revelation to humanity. The Bible stands as the infallible and authoritative guide for faith and conduct (See 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

We believe that the Lord Jesus is 100% divine, the Son of God, while simultaneously being 100% human, the Son of Man. As God Incarnate, He is the express image of the Living God in human form (See John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 4:15)Furthermore, we believe in Jesus' virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal future return to the earth in power and glory.

ORIGINAL SIN & THE FALL OF MAN

Man was created good and upright in the image and likeness of God. The first man,Adam, through disobedience, fell from the grace of God and, thus, sin and death entered into the world. Adam's transgression brought about not only physical death but also spiritual death, resulting in eternal separation from God. Humanity's inclination toward sin, due to its sinful nature, creates the need for salvation from the power of sin and a Savior to provide that salvation.

SALVATION OF MAN

We believe that humanity's only hope for redemption and salvation from sin is through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. His blood is fully sufficient to free every person from both the power and penalty of sin (See Ephesians 1:7).

THE CHURCH & ITS MISSION

The Church, as the Body of Christ, is made up of all believers, and God dwells within this body through His Holy Spirit, both individually and collectively. The Church’s responsibility is: 1) to evangelize the world, 2) to be a corporate body in which man may worship and glorify God, and 3) to equip the saints for the work of service. (See Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 2:19-22).

BAPTISM IN WATER

Baptism by immersion in water is commanded in the Scriptures. Furthermore, water baptism symbolizes a believers identification with Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Immersion in water represents the believer's union with Jesus in His death and burial, while rising from the water symbolizes His resurrection and the new life the believer has in Christ (see Acts 22:16).

HOLY COMMUNION

The Lord’s Supper, consisting of bread and a cup of the fruit of the vine, is a memorial of Jesus’ suffering and death and a celebration of His resurrection to be enjoyed by all believers until He comes again (See Matthew 26:26–28).

BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is evidenced by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance (See Acts 2:4). This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. With the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes the enduing of power for life and service and the bestowing of spiritual gifts.

EVER-INCREASING FAITH

Faith of the heart is based on the hearing (spiritual understanding) of God’sWord. Without faith it is impossible to please God (See Hebrews 11:6). Christians are saved through faith, justified by faith, shall live by faith, and overcome the world by faith (See Ephesians 2:8-10; Romans 5:1; 1 John 5:4).

DIVINE HEALING

Divine healing is provided for in both Old and New Testaments and is integral to the Gospel (See James 5:14-16).

THE SECOND ADVENT OF CHRIST & THE FINAL JUDGMENT

We believe that as the culmination of God's plan for humanity, Jesus will return. At that time, there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked. The wicked will face judgment, while the righteous will enter into the eternal Kingdom of God.
Our Foundational Scripture

"...Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Matthew 4:4
